Part 3

Suddenly, the heavy silence of the storage room is shattered by the shrill, mechanical chime of a bell echoing through the vents.

Briiing!

The sound cuts through the lingering haze of demonic energy like a bucket of ice water. Kanzaki freezes, his eyes snapping wide open as the reality of the situation hits him. He blinks down at Mari, then looks over at the discarded piles of clothing on the floor, a look of sudden panic replacing his exhausted smugness.

"Oh, shit," Kanzaki groans, rubbing his face with a hand that is still trembling slightly from exhaustion. "That's the five-minute warning for afternoon homeroom. Mr. Sato is going to absolutely flay me alive if I'm late again, especially after missing third period completely."

Mari blinks dazedbily, her mind still floating somewhere in a cloud of pure energetic bliss. The sudden shift in his demeanor takes a second to register. "Wait... school? Right now?"

"Yes, school!" Kanzaki pushes himself up from the floor, his knees buckling slightly before he catches himself on a dusty metal shelf. His incubator stamina is completely shot. He scrambles to grab his wrinkled white school shirt and the dark blue uniform trousers from the floor, shaking them out in a hurry. "It's hard to maintain the mysterious, powerful incubus persona when you're facing detention and a phone call to your parents."

Mari lets out a soft, amused giggle, the sound rich and bubbly now that her demonic nature is fully satisfied. She slowly sits up, looking down at her newly expanded, hyper-voluptuous body. Her uniform shirt is lying a few feet away, looking impossibly small compared to her current proportions.

"Kanzaki..." she says, pointing a finger at her massive, bouncing breasts and the sheer width of her hips. "How am I supposed to fit back into my uniform? Everyone in class is going to notice if I walk in looking like... this."

Kanzaki stops halfway through buttoning his shirt, his jaw dropping slightly as he takes in the sheer scale of her transformation again. In the heat of the moment, it made perfect sense, but looking at it under the harsh fluorescent light leaking through the storage room window, she looks completely ridiculous for a high school student.

"Right. Um. Focus on the energy," Kanzaki says quickly, kneeling down next to her and grabbing her hands. "Your body expanded to hold the power, but now that you're digesting it, you should be able to compress it. Just breathe. Think about your human guise. Pull the aura back inside your core."

Mari closes her eyes, taking a deep, steady breath. She focuses on the heavy, warm pool of energy in her stomach, imagining it shrinking down into a tight, dense knot.

Slowly, with a soft, static-like hiss of magical pressure, her exaggerated curves begin to recede. Her massive breasts shrink back down to their usual, manageable size, and her hips taper back to her standard silhouette. She opens her eyes, letting out a sigh of relief as she looks down at her normal hands.

"Wow," she breathes, quickly grabbing her skirt and pulling it over her legs. "That is going to take some getting used to."

"Tell me about it," Kanzaki grunts, finally finishing his buttons and stuffing his tie into his blazer pocket since he doesn't have time to tie it properly. He helps her up, brushing a stray cobweb off her shoulder. "Come on, if we run through the back hallway by the gymnasium, we can make it before the final bell."

Mari smiles, adjusting her collar as they head for the heavy metal door. "Lead the way, tutor."

They slip out of the dim, dusty storage room and immediately sprint down the deserted back hallway, their sneakers squeaking loudly against the polished linoleum. Kanzaki leads the way, his unknotted tie flapping over his shoulder, while Mari keeps close pace behind him, her cheeks still slightly flushed from the lingering heat of her awakening.

As they round the corner by the gymnasium, the final, frantic warning bell begins to ring.

Briiing!

"Hurry!" Kanzaki whispers loudly, skidding to a halt just outside the door to Classroom 2-B. He takes a two-second second to pat down his messy dark hair, straighten his blazer, and try to wipe the absolute exhaustion from his face.

Mari quickly adjusts her skirt, smoothing out the wrinkles as best as she can, and gives him a quick, reassuring nod. Her red eyes have shifted back to their normal, human-looking dark brown color, hiding any trace of her succubus heritage from the rest of the student body.

Kanzaki slides the wooden classroom door open just as the bell cuts out.

The entire class turns to look at them. At the front of the room, Mr. Sato stops writing on the chalkboard, lowering his chalk to glare at the two arriving students over the rim of his glasses. The atmosphere is thick with the mundane, heavy boredom of a high school afternoon—a surreal contrast to the supernatural intensity of what had just happened in the storage room.

"Ah, Mr. Kanzaki, Miss Mari," Mr. Sato says, his voice dripping with dry sarcasm. "How kind of you both to join us for the final period of the day. Care to explain why you're both disheveled and arriving at the exact same moment?"

A few students in the back row whisper and snicker, nudging each other as they eyes the two up and down.

Kanzaki clears his throat, slipping effortlessly into his role as an ordinary, slightly lazy high schooler. He bows his head apologetically. "My apologies, Mr. Sato. Mari was feeling faint during the afternoon break due to the heat, so I accompanied her to the nurse's office to make sure she was alright. It took a while for her to recover."

Mr. Sato eyes them skeptically for a long moment, his gaze lingering on Kanzaki's missing tie and Mari's slightly messy hair. However, seeing how pale Mari usually looks as a half-vampire, he sighs and shakes his head.

"Very well. Take your seats before I change my mind about giving you both detention. And Kanzaki, fix your uniform."

"Yes, sir. Thank you, sir," Kanzaki murmurs.

They walk down the aisles to their respective desks. As Mari slips into her seat a row behind him, she catches Kanzaki's eye. She gives him a subtle, playful wink, her hand resting casually over her stomach where his warm, potent demonic energy is still peacefully digesting, keeping her satisfied and grounded for the rest of the school day. Kanzaki lets out a quiet sigh of relief, sinking into his chair and pulling out his notebook, wondering how he's going to survive the next two hours of math without falling asleep on his desk.

The scratching of chalk against the blackboard fills the classroom as Mr. Sato launches into a dense lecture on advanced calculus. For Kanzaki, the sound is like a hypnotic drone pulling him straight toward a deep, inescapable sleep. His physical stamina is completely shot, his muscles feeling like lead weights after the sheer volume of energy he expended back in the storage room. He props his chin up with one hand, his eyelids fluttering as he blindly scribbles meaningless squiggles into his notebook just to look busy.

Behind him, Mari is having the exact opposite experience.

While she looks perfectly normal on the outside—a quiet, pale high school girl staring attentively at the board—her insides are buzzing with an incredible, vibrant warmth. Every time she breathes, she can feel the thick, heavy reservoir of Kanzaki’s incubus essence settling deep into her core, radiating waves of pure, revitalizing energy through her entire body. The agonizing, restless hunger that had plagued her for weeks is completely gone. She feels focused, energized, and utterly content.

Leaning forward slightly, Mari looks at the back of Kanzaki’s head. She notices the way his shoulders are slumping and how his head keeps dropping every few seconds as he fights to stay awake. A soft, mischievous smile tugs at the corners of her lips.

Carefully, making sure Mr. Sato’s back is turned, she tears a small piece of paper from her notebook and quickly scribbles a line onto it. She folds it into a tight square, leans across the aisle, and gently drops it onto Kanzaki's desk right over his messy doodles.

Kanzaki blinks awake, startled by the sudden movement. He glances around stealthily before unfolding the note under the shadow of his desk.

You look like you're about to pass out, Mr. Tutor. Do you need me to give some of this energy back to you? I have plenty to spare right now~ 😉

Kanzaki suppresses a groan, his face heating up slightly as he reads the teasing words. He risks a glance back over his shoulder. Mari is watching him, her chin resting in her hands, her eyes sparkling with a playful, demonic glint that no one else in the room could possibly notice.

He quickly writes a reply on the bottom of the paper and slips it backward onto her desk.

Keep it. It’s a miracle you’re not bouncing off the walls. Just help me survive until the final bell before I face-plant into my desk.

Mari catches the note, reading his messy handwriting with a silent, breathless giggle. She tucks the paper safely into her pencil case, feeling a deep sense of gratitude mingled with the lingering thrill of their secret connection. For the first time in her life, her dual nature feels completely in balance, and as she watches Kanzaki stubbornly blink through the rest of the lesson, she realizes she can't wait for their next "tutoring session."

The final hour of the school day drags on at a agonizingly slow pace. Every tick of the classroom clock feels amplified, echoing in Kanzaki’s ears like a countdown to freedom. He manages to keep his eyes open by sheer force of will, occasionally shifting his weight to keep his joints from locking up. Every now and then, he can feel the subtle, phantom warmth of Mari's gaze lingering on the back of his neck, a constant reminder of the wild secret they share right under the nose of their oblivious teacher.

Finally, the long-awaited afternoon bell chimes through the loudspeakers.

Briiing!

"Alright, that's all for today," Mr. Sato says, tapping his chalk against the podium to get the class's attention over the sudden rustle of packing bags. "Don't forget to complete the problems on page 142 for tomorrow's review. Have a good afternoon."

The classroom immediately erupts into a flurry of chatter as students stand up, shoving textbooks into their bags and forming groups to head to their after-school clubs or walk home. Kanzaki slumps back in his chair, letting out a long, dramatic sigh as the tension finally leaves his shoulders.

"Hey, Kanzaki! You coming to the arcade with us?" a classmate from across the row calls out, slinging his backpack over one shoulder. "Tanaka says he's going to beat your high score on the racing game today."

Kanzaki waves a dismissive hand, offering a lazy, apologetic smile. "Nah, pass today, guys. I'm completely wiped out. I think I caught a bit of a bug, so I'm just gonna head straight home and crash."

"Man, you look like a zombie," the friend laughs, shaking his head. "Alright, catch you tomorrow. Don't die on the walk home."

As his friends filter out of the classroom, the room quickly empties until only Kanzaki and Mari remain. Mari stands up from her desk, her movements smooth and effortless. The contrast between them is almost comical; while Kanzaki looks like he's running on empty, Mari's pale skin has a healthy, vibrant glow, and her steps are light, full of the boundless energy she absorbed from him.

She walks over to his desk, leaning against the edge of it as she looks down at him with a warm, affectionate expression.

"Still alive over there?" she asks softly, her voice dropping to a low, intimate purr now that they're completely alone.

"Barely," Kanzaki mutters, packing his notebook into his bag with slow, deliberate movements. He looks up at her, his crimson eyes softening as he takes in how genuinely happy and stable she looks. "But seeing you looking so well... I'd say it was worth the sacrifice. How's the stomach feeling?"

Mari rests a hand over her flat, uniform-clad belly, a small smile playing on her lips. "Perfect. The warmth has settled in nicely. No bloodlust, no crazy hunger pangs. Just... peace. I don't think I've ever felt this balanced, Kanzaki."

Kanzaki smiles, standing up and swinging his bag over his shoulder. He finally takes his tie out of his pocket and loosely drapes it around his neck, not bothering to knot it. "That's the power of an incubus's essence, Mari. It's potent stuff. Now that your core knows how to process it, it'll only get easier from here."

They walk out of the classroom together, stepping into the golden, late-afternoon sunlight filtering through the hallway windows. As they head toward the shoe lockers to change out of their indoor slippers, Mari slides her hand down, her fingers gently brushing against his in a brief, hidden caress.

"So," she murmurs, her eyes sparkling with that familiar, playful malice. "About that next lesson... how long do you think it'll take for your stamina to fully recharge?"
